Influence Crew Founder
Doug Healey, the founder of Influence Crew, is a family-focused man whose key focus is to help those who have the motivation and desire to change their lives. From mental to physical health, there are no limits to who can be part of the Influence Crew. Doug has taken hundreds of supporters and athletes to various countries around the world to help people achieve their goals of taking on some of the world’s biggest marathon events including the Great Wall Marathon and the TCS New York City Marathon.
Social Media
All our social media is driven through our facebook pages, here we keep tabs on your training and team obligations. This is not compulsory however we have found that those who fail to engage throughout the year end up being the one on the bus that no one knows. Team updates, Team trainings, notices, flight changes etc are all updated on the team page so once you've been accepted look out for the invite.
Training
Training for a marathon can be hard especially if you've never done one before. A full marathon is 42.2km. Some events have a 10km section or a half marathon 21km. All events have medals.
All teams prepare well in advance and over the years we have had some incredible transformations some losing up to 70kg before departure. Our teams are made up of individuals looking for change and a new outlook on life. These are the non-elite, the left behind and those that never had the chance to really do anything.
Our goal is to provide opportunites that change lives forever not just go overseas to run, jog or walk marathons. We have a mission statement that reads "No one gets left behind" which means, everyone is there for you regardless of your fitness level.
Pulling out
Should you need to pull out at any time there is a cancellation fee of; $50 for the First Light Marathon or $200 for any overseas Marathon, this covers any admin costs and bookings changes. We can transfer to another year if requested.
Refunds
Should you need a refund on flights, accomodation etc we will begin the process. If this is close to your departure date some airlines and hotels may incurr extra fees and charges. If you have an insurance provider we can also assist you with your travel claim to help speed up the process.
Supporters
Supporters play a vital role in our travel as they are the voices along the course to cheer you to victory. Supporters get all the treats of the tour and are escorted onto the course on race day. Supporters must be in uniform and participate in all non marathon events.
Age
Because our tours are adult themed children are not recommended, however if you want to meetup with family after your tour that can be arranged. We do like to accomodate to everyone but international events request ages from 18 upwards. Our eldest athlete has been 75
