We had the most amazing trip with the Influence Crew and Doug Healey. Doug had everything planned to perfection which meant we could relax and enjoy the trip.

This was our first full marathon and I'm so glad we chose this one as it was a nice flat course with plenty of toilet and water stations. The best part of the Marathon was seeing other Influence Crew member along the course, they are the best supporters ever.

I would totally recommend this trip and Marathon, I definitely want to do it again.

Everything was taken care of professionally and superbly right from sign up time 2 years ago to regular communication since than to on the trip right to the end.

I loved everything organised for us accommodation and the locations , breakfasts in NY and Vegas, the buses to and from the marathon and airport . The extentions to Vegas and San Fran.

Our team dinner on Hudsons river, Alcatraz, golden gate . I loved how trainer took us to places he recommends in San Fran & his knowledge of where to go , where to shop omg was so useful for my first time in San Fran. To have a trainer A leader who has fun with us thats a Leader.

Trainer, sophie, Rachael and mike were so patient and always accommodating from beginning to end. They are the best organising team I have travelled overseas with because they know how to manaaki and still be so calm.

I am so happy with my travel experience that I look forward to travelling again with Doug to the next Marathon destination I go on.

Highly recommended. Logistically taking 140 people away to do an event sounds a nightmare but it was well organised and operated like a well oiled machine.

Flights - went to plan however the close connection transfers in LA were a mad rush.
Accomodation - was lovely, modern & close to main locations but rooms were a little cramped, the breakfast made up for it. Extras - were absolutely fantastic eg attending broadway show & dinner cruise. Regularly updated throughout journey.
Marathon Event - was off the hook. Love love loved it and grateful for the opportunity.
Uniform - stood out, felt proud to represent both Influence & NZ.
Team camaraderie - was special and developed some great relationships .

No words can Express the Experience given to us by Trainer Doug Healey and Marathon Tours. He goes first to explore the Country to see how he can put into place our Journey. This was my first International Marathon and I was literally overwhelmed, I couldn't fathom what was going on. Trainer thought of everything all we had to do was Train, Save and show up. The Transport from planes, to buses, Electric Scooters, Boats, Horse carts, the Spectacular Views, The Temples , Markets, Restaurants. Yes the Marathons were amazing BUT the People are such humble, hardworking and friendly and loving . They welcomed us with open arms. And their Culture just blew us away, it makes us think how we take so many things for granted. Our Influence Team met as strangers and left as friends. That's the Influence of Trainer and his dream for all of us. I would go back next year but I have a date with the Great Wall of China. I'm not sure any other Country could make me feel the way Myanmar people made me feel. Loved every moment of this wonderful trip. God bless you Trainer, you have done us Proud. Going to Hawaii with Doug and the influence crew was a trip of a lifetime. Everything and everyone was taken care of from meeting at the check in to the farewell at the airport.

I never thought I would ever do Marathon, but I did! To be honest with determination and anyone can do it, its an achievable goal.

Most magic wonderful experience of my life. My husband and I ages 70 & 65 had a wonderful time. The whole trip was so well organised by Doug Healey from the start to finish that we did not have to worry about anything. The flights, hotels, restaurants were all 5 star. I've travelled with Doug twice now - New York marathon and China Wall marathon. New York was my first marathon, I hit a wall at 25 kms the most i'd ever ran/walked been in my life - Doug took me by the hand and said "I got you buddy" he held my hand for the next 2 kms just talking me through it - I'll never forget that moment - I finished that marathon, the full 42 kms victorious.

First hand experience:

I am not easily convinced by someone's words I have to see it and experience it myself. I was one of the 80 people that got the opportunity to travel to China in May this year as part of the Influence crew to run marathon on Great wall. It was a stress free overseas trip! Doug Healey organized everything right from Day 1. I didn't have to go through the hardship of worrying about things etc. Very competent, reliable, honest and trustworthy. All the costs and everything was laid and visible right from the start and followed it through. 2 days prior to departing NZ my son had an emergency ended in hospital so I had to make a fast decision to go run the marathon and come back the next day. I was worried and scared of how to do all the transfers, change bookings etc. Doug Healey did all that in a day and I was rest assured everything is going to be ok. Yes, he delivered that and organized everything for me to come back early. I am confident and looking to travel the world and run marathons under Doug Healey's leadership. 2020 I'm going again to China and Burma with my Influence family. His communication, organization skills are amazing!! He knows his stuff and a real person who serves his community with honesty and trust!!

Absolutely amazing experience travelling with Doug and the influence family to China - difficult to describe in a short review! Doug and his team organize absolutely everything so all you need to do is make sure you turn up to the airport and create unforgettable memories! Looking forward to doing it all again. This was my first Marathon and doing it with Doug and the Influence Crew was the best experience ever, as they say you leave as strangers and come home as whanau. Everything is done for you all you have to do is listen and your set he’ll tell you what he needs from you and when he needs it done, than all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the once in a lifetime experience. The organisation from Doug and Marathon Tours is excellent EVERTHING is done for you from flights, motels, breakfast, registration for marathon, visiting the world trade centre, showcase and even dinner on a cruise. The site seeing alone was an eye opener. I would definitely do another one with Doug and the influence whanau anyone wanting to do a marathon just ask around this is the whanau to do it with 100%.As they say “NO ONE GETS LEFT BEHIND” that is 100% true I’ve seen it for myself.Loved all the new friends and whanau I’ve adopted on my trip to NY.
